Save the Environment and Earn Money for Our SchoolWe’re continuing our partnership with Terracycle and recycling Capri Sun and Honest Kids drink pouches, Ziploc (or other brand) baggies, and glue sticks and bottles. Terracycle recycles consumer waste and creates new products. We started recycling Ziploc products in February 2011 and collected almost 9,500 baggies. Last school year we collected 4,005 drink pouches. We receive $0.02 for each usable item – that means we earned $269.24 while keeping everything we shipped Terracycle from the landfill. At lunch, students can just empty out their drink pouches or plastic bags and put them in the recycle boxes in the lunch room. If ... read full article |

If your student is an “artiste” and would like an opportunity to show off their talents, then the Reflections Fine Arts contest is an excellent choice. Students create their own original works based on this year’s theme, “Diversity Means….”, and judges from the local community provide feedback.
