It’s that time of year again ~ May 6th through May 10th is National Staff Appreciation Week! In keeping with tradition here at Newcastle, we will celebrate our fabulous staff with a fun-filled week, including:

Monday, May 6th  - Breakfast Buffet: The PTSA will be hosting a breakfast buffet of Top Pot Donuts, fruit, juice and coffee in the staff lounge.

Tuesday, May 7th - Luncheon: The Kindergarten and First Grade families will be hosting our third and final staff  luncheon. We will celebrate this special week with a Fiesta/Cinco de Mayo Lunch!

Wednesday, May 8th - Thanks-a-Latte Day:  Students are asked to write a special note to their teacher as well as a staff member or specialist. These special notes are the greatest way to express our gratitude for all the wonderful things our Newcastle Staff to do support students. Also, the staff will receive a gift certificate for a specialty coffee drink of their choice from Java Jolt.

Thursday, May 9th - The PTSA will be providing Movie Ticket Treat Bags!

Friday, May 10th - Staff Car Wash and Specialty Cookies:  The PTSA will be organizing the car wash and hosting a sweet cookie treat to round out our week!

How can you help?

Mexican Themed Luncheon - The Kindergarten and First Grade families will be asked through their room parents to provide this lunch. (The other grades have provided for the luncheons earlier this year).

Thank You Note Day - We are hoping students/families will take a moment to recognize a couple of individuals at Newcastle who contribute to their school day ~ classroom teacher, P.E. teacher, librarian, music teachers, educational assistants, office staff, custodian, lunch staff, etc!  Staff can be thanked with a handwritten note, drawing, flower or treat!

Car Wash - Volunteers will be washing the cars of each staff member! Please click on the following link if you are interested in helping wash cars on Friday, May 10th.  http://vols.pt/sFzXrU  The more hands the better!
