Author Visit to Newcastle on May 9th!
Author Ben Clanton will be visiting Newcastle Elementary on Thursday, May 9th! He is the author of the graphic novel series, Narwhal- Unicorn of the Sea as well as many picture books including Rex Wrecks It, It Came with the Mail, and Rot - The Cutest in the World! We are very excited to have this talented author come and talk to the students about writing!

Local independent bookseller, Brick & Mortar, will be doing a pre-order for students interested in purchasing a book to have signed by Ben Clanton!

To purchase books for this event, please fill out the order form and return with your payment in cash (exact amount) or check made out to Brick & Mortar Books to your teacher by Thursday, April 25th.

Now Accepting Golden Acorn Award Nominations
We are happy to announce that we are now accepting nominations for the 2019 Golden Acorn Award!  Each year our PTSA awards the Golden Acorn to individuals who have given outstanding volunteer service to the children and youth in our school community.  The Golden Acorn is special and is an excellent way to honor our volunteers that have given continued and dedicated service that goes above and beyond

We greatly apologize for our late initiation of this process this year, but will be sure the recognition for the recipients goes above and beyond!  It does mean our timeline is shorter as we would like to recognize these individuals in late May, so nominations will be due by April 29th, 2019.

Please follow the links below to the nomination form in the format you prefer for submission instructions and the nomination form to complete.  Thank you for taking the time to recognize some outstanding individuals!

For questions, please contact Angela Ursino at angelaursino@comcast.net or Khanh Dang at khanhlove@comcast.net.
