Congratulations Geography Bee Winner Connor Danicheck The Geography Bee finals for 4th and 5th grade students was held on Friday, Jan. 10. Congratulations to our winner, 4th grader Connor Danicheck from Ms. Kallevig's class. Congratulations also go out to 1st runner up Connor Redmond (5th grade) and 2nd runner up Quinn Redmond (4th grade). Thanks to all who participated and a big thank you to Emily Kallevig for leading the Geography Bee this year. Parent Wiser hosts Dr. Caprice Hollins for a paradigm-shifting talk to help parents engage in courageous conversations with our children and learn How to be a Culturally Competent Family in 2020. Welcome Jersey Mikes To Newcastle And Earn Money For The PTSA Jersey Mikes is now open in the former Zoey Yogurt location in the QFC shopping center. Drop by this week and use one of these coupons and $2 will be donated to the Newcastle PTSA. Do You Have Questions About The February 11th, 2020 Renewal Levy? Levies are the only locally approved ballot measures that directly pay for classroom and education needs in our schools that the state does not fund. This February 11, 2020 voters will have a chance to continue supporting programs and services funded by the previous levy expiring in 2020. The 2020 EP&O Renewal Levy Continues Support For: Career & Technical Education • Mental Health Counselors in our schools • Special Education • Early Childhood Learning • Safety and Security • Highly Capable Programs • Dual Language • After School Activities and Athletics This is NOT a new tax. The proposed 2-year levy replaces the expiring 2018 levy at a lower overall tax rate. With voter approval of this renewal levy, we can ensure these programs continue benefitting our students for another 2 years.
