Join Dr. Wood For A Zoom Coffee Chat – Friday, May 1 at Noon

Dr. Wood will host a Coffee Chat open to all Newcastle Elementary parents and caregivers this Friday, May 1 at 12:00pm. Take a quick lunch break and get your questions answered.

From Dr. Wood:
I want you to know that you are all on my mind throughout each and every day. I know I can't even begin to imagine all that each of your families is experiencing, but I hope that the efforts of our teachers and staff are beginning to make a difference within the lives of your children. I know that we still have much to learn about how to serve in this new capacity - thank you for your understanding as we have adapted and adjusted to our changing circumstances and expectations. As we draw towards the home stretch for this year, I know that there are countless questions regarding upcoming plans, canceled events, and transitions into summer.

Typically, these are the types of conversations that we are able to engage in at our scheduled Coffee Talks. Since we don't have a physical space available for us to gather right now, I thought that perhaps a Coffee Chat would help to provide a venue for us to come together. I am looking forward to this opportunity to check in and touch base. In the meantime, please continue to reach out to your teacher(s) or myself regarding any specific needs regarding your own child, as we want to be certain to address those with you directly.

The Zoom link directly below will serve as your official invitation to join me in a Zoom conference on Friday, May 1 at 12:00 PM.

Want To Help Determine The Direction Of Our PTSA? Consider Joining The 2020/2021 Board

Our search for PTSA Board members has gone virtual along with school. Have you ever wondered what the PTSA does? Have ideas about how PTSA activities could be improved? Just want to become more involved in your child’s school? Consider joining the PTSA Board. Our Nominating Committee is in search of people who can help us enrich the educational experience for every child at Newcastle. We’re looking for the following positions:

  • President

  • Secretary

  • Treasurer

  • VP Outreach

  • VP Programs

  • VP Volunteers

  • VP Ways and Means

Most positions require a commitment of no more than 5 hours per month, including meetings, and we design meetings around the schedules of our board members. So whether you’re a mom or dad or grandparent, whether you work outside the home or stay home, the PTSA is for you. The only requirement is that you’re a PTSA member. If you are interested or just have questions or if you know someone you think could be great, please contact our Nominating Committee (Jessica Anderson, Marcia O’Donoghue, Sarika Sikka) at newcastleptsa.nominating@gmail.com. More details about each position can be found here.
