Save The Date: General Membership Meeting Wed, June 17 at 7:00pm

Our final General Membership Meeting of the year will be a Zoom meeting, taking place at 7:00pm on Wednesday, June 17. This will be a quick meeting to vote on our current slate of 2020/2021 Board nominees and to vote on our 2020/2021 budget. If you’ve ever wondered how PTSA funds are spent or want to have a say in where they go, this is your opportunity. If you are interested in attending, please contact newcastleptsa.president@gmail.com and you will be sent the invite.

Introducing Our Current 2020/2021 PTSA Board Nominees

The following nominees for our PTSA Board will be voted on during our June 17 General Membership Meeting.

We are still in need of people to fill the following positions:

• VP of Ways and Means (2 people)
• VP of Programs (2 people)
• Treasurer (1 person)
• Secretary (1 person)

These positions are open to ANYONE who is a member of the PTSA. There is no requirement to be at school during the day, monthly meetings are arranged to fit Board Members’ schedules, and most positions require no more than 3-5 hours per month commitment. Positions are also typically shared between two people, so they are easy to do even if you work outside the home. Two Great Ways To Help Support The PTSA For 2020/2021

2020/2021 is likely to be a tough year as we anticipate school looking different and our PTSA budget to be smaller. Even in this ever-changing environment, the PTSA is committed to doing what we can to enrich the educational experience of every child at Newcastle and to continue to create a sense of community even when we are apart. If you are able to contribute to our efforts next year, there are two easy ways to support the PTSA: 

1. Contribute to our Virtual Fundraiser here. And please share the link with family members you think may be interested in helping.
2. Designate the Newcastle PTSA as your charity of choice with Amazon Smile. Simply go to www.smile.amazon.com and log in with your Amazon info. When prompted, choose Newcastle Elementary PTSA as your charity. Every time you order from Amazon, they will donate to the PTSA. You can also share this with family.

Get A Head Start On 2020/2021 National PTA Reflections Art

The Reflections program works to provide opportunities for recognition and access to the arts for all students. The theme for 2020-21 is "I Matter Because..." Students in grades pre-K through 12 can begin creating their original works of art inspired by the theme and submit in one or all of the following categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts.
