Newcastle Auction is in Jeopardy!
Did you know that Newcastle Elementary school's biannual auction is our biggest fundraiser? It funds our PTSA for two years! Our new playground, the GaGa ball pit, and playground equipment, as well as the many programs and supportive services we offer, are just a fraction of the items it has funded in the past. We are in desperate need of volunteers or the auction may not be able to happen this year.
Immediate areas of help:
Procurement (it’s not that hard, promise) Sponsorships Data Entry Neighborhood Procurement Contacts Wine Procurement And more!!! Ellie and Jen have plans for all these things, just not enough hands to do the work! Please email 2023newcastleauction@gmail.com if you are able to lend a hand. We do not need a lot of your time, and every little bit that you all can give is a huge help. Thank you so much for making this year's auction a success! Reflections - Explore the Arts and Express Yourself!
ATTENTION ALL ARTISTS! Express yourself and use the arts to share your personal Reflections on this year’s theme: Show Your Voice! The Reflections Program is a National PTA and Washington State PTA cultural arts competition. The purpose of this program is to provide an opportunity for students to use their creative talents by expressing themselves through their own original works. This program encourages students to explore an idea, centered around a theme in visual arts, photography, dance choreography, film making, literature, or music composition. Start working on your piece today.
Hearing and Vision Screening Volunteers
We are very short on volunteers for our Vision and Hearing screening on Tuesday, November 1st, and Wednesday, November 2nd!
You will be helping with audiometer machines, checking off students for vision, and guiding them from one station to another.
**Please ensure that you are approved to volunteer through the district. This process can take up to THREE weeks so please plan ahead and submit your application and have the approval ready before you check-in at the office for your volunteer slot. Vaccination records need to be submitted and Driver's License or Passport must not be expired. Another tip: Make sure to log out of your application page once it's completed. Otherwise, the application is floating and it doesn't go in the queue to be processed. To submit your application, please go HERE.
If you are approved, you can sign up HERE.
Lunch/Recess Volunteers Lunch/Recess support is still a great need! Please consider volunteering if you are able. Remember, you must be approved through the district to volunteer at school. We recommend you do this immediately as it is taking a couple of weeks for the processing of applications. Link to submit your application is HERE. You can sign up for lunch/recess support HERE. Thank you! LionArt! Did you know Newcastle has its own art program, run exclusively by volunteers? This program has been at Newcastle for years and we are excited to bring it back to its full capacity! We have our very own art room where grades 1-5 will be going each month to participate in some wonderful projects such as clay, glass and much more. Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten will also have art projects, and they will be done in their classrooms. Check out how our new room in portable 4 is coming along! Video HERE. This program is funded by our PTSA and run by volunteers like YOU! If you would like to volunteer as an art docent, (no experience or talent in art is required), please email lionartnewcastle@gmail.com. Remember, you need to have your district application approved first. Link to that can be found HERE.
