Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank Drive
Newcastle Elementary school PTSA is working with the Issaquah food bank to collect these items from January 4th to January 11th. This is a time when the Food Bank (that supports the needs of our students) needs the most help! Holiday rush and donations are over, and historically this is a tough time for donations: Hearty Soup, Peanut Butter (16 oz size only), Canned Chicken, White Rice (2 lb bags only), Hamburger Helper/Pasta Roni, Canned Fruit, Jam/jelly (regular size), Canned Pasta/Ravioli, Protein Bars Cereal Pancake Mix, Cooking oil (16-20 oz bottles only please), Diapers all sizes, Baby Wipes, Toothbrushes, Toothpaste There will be a collection box inside the school entrance. Thank you for your support! Membership Drive
Our membership drive was a great success! Our PTSA received an award for continuous growth of two years! Congratulations to the following classes who have earned a Spirit Day of their choosing (to be determined by each class and approved by their teachers). THANK YOU for supporting Newcastle Elementary's PTSA, which helps to deliver family engagement, academic, and art programming, along with teacher and grade level grants. If you still want to support the PTSA and help us to enrich the educational experience for every student (as well as get a free student directory, a car decal and so many other benefits) then please take 3 minutes to complete your membership HERE. Remember, you DO need to join every school year. If you are not sure if you’ve joined, or would like to verify, log into newcastleptsa.org and go to “My Account.” Look under “Orders” and see if “Membership” is listed under “Items.”

Angel Program The photo below shows the gifts that were delivered to 13 students and their families, thanks to our Angel Program donors! A special thank you to Ms. Geraci and Ms. Jensen for being an integral part of this process, identifying students in need, while maintaining confidentiality. Pam and Tammy in our front office helped with distribution and Hilary Doherty, our Angel Program Chair, had the task of assigning donors to families and ensuring they were all accounted for. Our donors and community have truly come through in a big way! All of this would not have been possible without the brilliant idea and implementation by Marcia O’Donoghue, a former Newcastle Elementary parent. It takes a village and ours is one of the very best! Should you be interested in being a donor in the future, please email newcasteptsa.angel@gmail.com More info on Newcastle Elementary PTSA’s Angel Program: What IS the Angel Program? The Angel Program exists to support our families impacted by financial hardships. Our school counselor assists these families in identifying community resources. Volunteers within Newcastle Elementary fulfill additional family requests. Each of our families/students and volunteers remain anonymous. Be Brave. Privacy of all requests will be respected. From a winter coat to school supplies, rain boots to a birthday gift, our school counselor, Kailey Mutter, is available to help in a time of need. Please send an email to mutterk@issaquah.wednet.edu or call/text (346) 298-1228. Be an Angel. Become an Angel Donor. Angel Donors directly impact the health and well-being of Newcastle students. Anyone can be an Angel Donor by shopping, purchasing and/or delivering requests. Email newcastleptsa.angel@gmail.com for inquiries. Be a Model. Demonstrate to your student the importance of giving and receiving. Be the foundation and build a stronger community. Auction News Helping the PTSA is more fun with a friend!
