We are excited to announce Newcastle Elementary will be teaming up with Playworks for the 2023-2024 school year! Playworks is the leading national non-profit using play to transform schools. We are proud to partner with PLAYWORKS to make recess a fun, inclusive time for every student in our community. A Playworks recess creates a place for every kid on the playground to feel included, be active, and build valuable social and emotional skills. We will work in partnership with Playworks to launch the TEAM UP program. Our Playworks site coordinator will spend one week out of every month at our school to train, build and sustain a high-functioning recess. Our recess team staff will implement these new strategies to help all students at Newcastle Elementary experience safe and healthy play every day. For more information, please see the attached flyer or click on the links above. We look forward to working together to see this program in action! Lost & Found
The Lost and Found is overflowing. Be sure and check for your students jackets, water bottles, lunch bags, etc. We will be preparing to send everything out for donations. Please be sure and label all your students items as this helps us get the items back to your student.

Thank you to Whitney Walker, Dana Kinghorn and Alice Kim as they were voted in as our PTSA Nominating Committee at our meeting on January 11. Their job is to identify candidates to help us fill open positions on our PTSA Executive Board for the 2023/2024 school year.

Then please consider joining our PTSA Executive Board. We’re made up of parents from all different backgrounds and experiences, just like our community. We have caregivers who work full-time and part-time, and those who do not work outside the home. There’s a place for everyone. You can learn more about the various roles on the Board and the time commitment (typically less than 3-5 hours per month) HERE. If you’re interested in learning more or have someone you think would be great on the board, please contact Whitney Walker at whitneywalker@hotmail.com. ![]() The Multi-Cultural Family Fair is Back!
