Lunch for the Break
Lunch for the Break provides nutritious breakfast, lunch, and snack options for children attending school in the Issaquah School District. The program helps alleviate hunger during school breaks by providing a week's worth of free grocery items for students to be able to prepare breakfast, lunch, and snacks for themselves. The next Lunch for the Break will be Thursday, April 6, 1:00 - 7:00 pm. Shopping takes place at the Issaquah Food & Clothing Bank. Shopping times may be assigned to help minimize wait times. Families can choose from a variety of produce, dairy, proteins, snacks and other kid-friendly breakfast/lunch non-perishable items. Please REGISTER HERE before 5:00 pm on Monday, April 3.
Final Chance for Yearbooks!
Don’t miss out on the 2022-2023 yearbook for your student! If you did not purchase a yearbook for your child earlier in the school year, it’s not too late - but time is running out! To purchase: go to http://newcastleptsa.org/Home and click on the ‘yearbook’ icon in the left column list and follow the prompts to complete your purchase. Each copy is $26. The final deadline to order is Wednesday, April 5. Note: If you do not remember if you have already ordered a copy, go to the PTSA website, click on ‘my account’, log in, and go to “current orders”. A confirmation of your purchase will appear on that screen. Save the date! Movie Night for 3rd-5th Grade!
We are bringing back movie nights and the first one will be for our 3rd-5th grade families on Friday, April 21st! More details to follow as well as another evening for our TK-2nd graders. This is a family event and caregivers will need to remain with their students for the duration of the evening. Mark your calendars!
Save the Date! May 5th Newcastle Elementary STEM Night!
All TK-5 students and families are invited to attend Newcastle’s STEM Night, which will feature interactive opportunities to explore science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Blue Origin will show us what’s possible in space exploration, and Liberty H.S. Robotics club will be onsite demonstrate their latest innovations. Stay tuned for more details about this fun family event, to include how your Newcastle student can also embark on an individual or group project. Free pizza, compliments of the PTSA for Newcastle students and families. Contact Luisa Gass at l_vacca@hotmail.com with any questions.
