Staff Appreciation Begins Today!
We are so grateful for the incredible work our teachers and staff do each and every day to make our school a wonderful place for our students to learn and grow. Let's take this opportunity to show them just how much we appreciate them!
We encourage everyone to participate by sending a note of gratitude, bringing in flowers and/or thank you notes of appreciation, or simply saying thank you to a teacher or staff member who has made a positive impact in your student's life on Wednesday, May 10th.
Your PTSA will be spoiling them all week: Monday - coffee, pastries, and fresh fruit; Tuesday - Mexican Fiesta provided by TK, Kinder and 1st grade families; Thursday - Crumbl cookies, Friday - cool snacks and refreshments. Let's show our amazing staff how much we value them and all that they do! STEM Night Thank you to those that attended last Friday's Newcastle PTSA STEM Night. Over 150 attendees enjoyed interactive STEM experiences, coding, and independent projects displayed by Newcastle students. Blue Origin, Liberty Robotics Club and Code Ninjas were also there!
The following students won the prize draw, held per grade.
Videos of most of the independent STEM projects can be found HERE. A special thank you to our STEM chairs, Luisa & Jon Gass! Thank you to everyone who participated!
Movie Night for TK-2nd: May 19
Families in TK, Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade, mark your calendars for May 19th for your movie night! Classes will vote for the movie of their choice the week of May 15th. Please remember this is not a drop off event and caregivers will be responsible for their student(s).
Lost and Found Our Lost & Found is overflowing! Have your student ensure nothing in there belongs to them. Please make sure your student is coming to school with jackets, sweaters, hats, etc that are clearly labeled, with their name and teacher. We do go through them and try to return them to the rightful owner, however, we will be donating all leftover items. 2023/2024 PTSA Board At our membership meeting on May 3rd, our PTSA board nominees were officially voted in! Their roles will begin on July 1st. Please help us thank and welcome: For the Office of President – Mary Vickers We still have openings for another Ways & Means VP, as well as a co-president. Should you wish to inquire about what these positions entail, please contact Mary Vickers at, newcastleptsa.president@gmail.com. Thank you to our nominating committee, Whitney Walker, Dana Kinghorn and Alice Kim for their dedication and work to get this board filled!
