Help the PTSA show our appreciation the week of May 6-10 to our Newcastle Elementary staff!

We are so grateful for the incredible work our teachers and staff do each and every day to make our school a wonderful place for our students to learn and grow.

Swing by The Frosty Barrel on Wednesday, May 15th, between 1:30pm and 10:00pm and indulge in delicious desserts while supporting our elementary school. Simply mention Newcastle Elementary at checkout, and a portion of your purchase will go directly to our PTSA.

Save the date for Friday, May 17th, at 6:00p! Transitional Kindergarten, Kindergarten and first grades will vote in their classes for a movie of their choice: Puffin Rock and the New Friends, Elemental, or Kung Fu Panda 4.

Save the Date! Final membership meeting of the school year will be on Tuesday, May 21st! We will be voting on our board for the 2024-2025 school year. The Nominating Committee's report is available HERE. If you would like to attend virtually, please email newcastleptsa.president@gmail.com for the Zoom link.

The Newcastle Elementary PTSA invites your family to come and experience the many cultures from around the world at our Annual Cultural Fair on Wednesday, May 22! There will be interactive booths, games, crafts, performances and a cultural fashion parade all featuring our very own school families.

Sign up by May 1 at http://tinyurl.com/ncmcfair to volunteer or host a booth.

The Angel Program exists to support our families impacted by financial hardships. Our counselor Ms. Mutter works closely with our students and families to provide support for basic needs. Occasionally we get the opportunity to help these students in other ways that help contribute to their personal growth as a student here at Newcastle Elementary. We have identified several students that, without the support of our Angel Donors and community, family members would not be in a financial position to purchase a yearbook. If you would like to sponsor a yearbook for a student, please consider donating a yearbook HERE. Thank you in advance for your generosity.

Don’t miss out on the 2023-2024 yearbook for your student! Order yearbooks by Friday, May 31st! Each copy is $26. GO TO OUR WEBSITE to purchase and click on the "Yearbook" icon in the left column list and follow the prompts to complete your purchase.

Get ready for an EPIC Spring Fling with a special guest appearance that will make this event even more unforgettable! Join us for a day of bouncing, bowling, and an array of exciting activities.

We need YOUR help to make this event a success! Volunteers, please sign up HERE to lend a hand and ensure our Spring Fling is a blast for everyone!

FREE Popcorn is back at lunch recess! Approved volunteers are needed to help pop at 10:00am and distribute for the following lunch recesses: 1st/5th: 12:00-12:20p; TK/K/3rd: 12:25p-12:45p; 2nd/4th: 12:50p-1:10p.

If you are able to help, please email our popcorn chair, Dalyn at dalynhuveldt@gmail.com, or sign up HERE.

If you are approved to volunteer through the district, you are welcome to come to the school for your student’s recesses at any time. Be sure to check in at the front office to sign in and get your volunteer badge. Check out the Recess Schedule. Questions? Contact newcastleptsa.president@gmail.com.

Get a jump start on the application if you plan on volunteering at the school! ALL volunteers must have an approved application through the Issaquah School District each school year. Reviewing and approving volunteer applications may take up to three weeks. *Hint, if you submit before school starts, you will get approval FASTER!

Link to the application is HERE!

Each Friday, we encourage everyone to show their school spirit! You can wear your Newcastle Spirit Wear, yellow/green, or your favorite sports team! Let's see that pride!

Volunteer Needs for 2024-25

Auction Co-Chairs Needed

Newcastle Elementary is in need of Auction Chairs. This can be one or two people. This is our biggest fundraiser and the funds raised support our PTSA for two years. If you are interested in hearing more about this position, please contact Mary Vickers and Mindy Niehaus at newcastleptsa.president@gmail.com.

Communication Co-Chair Needed

Your Newcastle PTSA is still in need of a volunteer as the Communications Co-Chair. You will work directly with the PTSA Co-Presidents to create this very Newsletter, keeping all of our Newcastle PTSA members up to date. This position only requires 1-2 hours per week of time. Please email NewcastlePTSA.President@gmail.com if you’re interested or if you have any questions.

Join the 2023-2024 PTSA Today and Celebrate 20 Years of Lion Pride!

The PTSA has been with Newcastle Elementary since its doors opened almost 20 years ago, providing the funding and programs to enrich the educational experience to our children.

PTSA Membership helps fund critical school programs such as:

  • In-classroom monthly art curriculum and art supplies.
  • Family events like Costume Carnival, Science Fair and Multicultural Night.
  • Teacher allotments for classroom books, supplies or special class events.
  • Community outreach like the holiday toy drive, movie nights, and lunch for the break.
  • Yearbooks, Book Fairs, and much more!
  • An expanded and updated playground in 2019!

Our ability to deliver an exceptional educational experience at Newcastle depends upon EVERYONE. It takes nearly $300 per student to fund PTSA programs for a year. Every dollar makes a difference!

Make your voice heard and become a member today. For the 2023/2024 school year, a family (2-adult) membership costs $25 or $15 for an individual membership.

Visit www.newcastleptsa.org to sign up today!

Together we can enrich the educational experience for every family at Newcastle!
