Spring Updates

We’re off to a great start this April! There are many exciting updates and important dates to share, so be sure to read all the way through.

First and foremost, we would like to thank you for your incredible support of our Scholastic Book Fair. Thanks to your generosity, our school raised enough funds to provide every classroom with $200 worth of new books! These funds allow teachers to refresh their classroom libraries, expand reading options, and put more high-interest books into students’ hands.

In addition, your support helped provide books for the Angel Program, ensuring that every child has access to books at home. Your purchases truly make a difference, and we are so grateful to be part of a community that values literacy and equitable access for all learners.

We would also like to thank the parents who attended our General Membership Meeting at Vino at the Landing and took the time to meet our new principal, Julia Dorn. We look forward to hosting more gatherings like this in the future and hope to see even more of you there.

Infinity Farm Family Farm Day

Due to lower registration numbers, we’ve adjusted the event time to better accommodate families.

 

Join us for Newcastle Elementary’s Farm Day at Infinity Farm on Saturday, April 4, 2026, from 1:00–3:30 PM for a fun afternoon the whole family will enjoy.

It includes the following activities:

  • Egg hunt
  • Animal visits
  • Farm tours
  • Teaching garden exploration
  • Pizza Maniac Food Truck (or bring your own snacks)

Spring Break at Sports Arena

Staying home for Spring Break? Come play at Arena Sports from April 15–17 while supporting the Newcastle Elementary PTSA.

Arena Sports has created a special Newcastle Elementary Fundraiser Package:

For $39.99 per person, participants receive:

  • 2 hours of unlimited arcade play
  • Choice of one laser tag session or one Inflatable FunZone session
  • 2 slices of pizza and a large fountain drink

Best of all, 50% of fundraiser revenue will go directly back to Newcastle Elementary to support playground updates, teacher grants, and student programs.

Yearbook Due Date, Tuesday April 21st

The time has come to order your yearbook! The deadline to purchase is Tuesday, April 21st.

You can purchase a yearbook in the following ways:

  • Cash
  • Check
  • Credit card by scanning the QR code or clicking HERE

Paying with Cash or Check?
Please print the order form, detach the lower portion, and send it in with your payment. Be sure to include:

  • Number of yearbooks you are purchasing
  • Child’s name, grade, and teacher
  • Indicate if you would like to donate a yearbook

Checks should be made payable to Newcastle Elementary PTSA.
In the memo line, please write: Yearbook – Child’s Name – Teacher

Donating a yearbook helps ensure that every child has the opportunity to receive one.

Mariners vs Royals

Join us on Sunday, May 3 at 1:10 PM to cheer on the Seattle Mariners as they take on the Kansas City Royals!

We have main level seats available for $30, located along the right field/first base line. Tickets are limited this year due to high demand following the Mariners’ successful season—be sure to secure yours early!

TK, Kindergarten, & 1st Grade Teacher Appreciation Luncheon

Our final luncheon of the year is here—and we’re celebrating picnic style!

We are inviting our TK, Kindergarten, and 1st grade families to help provide a delicious spread. We welcome a variety of contributions such as fresh sandwiches, salads, soups, fruit, and other seasonal favorites. Both homemade and store-bought items are appreciated.

Drop-off: 9:15–10:15 AM at the Front Office

Thank you for your kindness and generosity in helping us celebrate our staff. Let’s finish the year by showing them how much they are appreciated!

Multicultural Family Night

 

 

 

 

 

 

Each year, the Newcastle Elementary PTSA hosts Multicultural Family Night, to celebrate our diverse school community.

Multicultural Family Night is a vibrant and welcoming event filled with music, food, performances, and cultural displays from around the world.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

How You Can Participate

We invite families to share and celebrate their culture by hosting a display table. Your booth may include:

  • Games, souvenirs or cultural items
  • Traditional dishes, snacks, drinks (non-alcoholic), desserts, or bread
  • Flyers, handouts, informational posters or cultural decorations

We also welcome performances! If you or your child would like to share a traditional or cultural dance, we would love to include you in our program.

 

Provided by PTSA:

  • Water
  • Tablecloths
  • Plates, cups, utensils, and napkins
  • Extension cords
  • Cardboard display

Please note: Families are responsible for bringing their own display materials and cultural decorations.

 

Volunteers Needed

To help make this event a success, we are looking for volunteers to assist with setup, cleanup, and event coordination. Your support is greatly appreciated!
