After an outstanding effort by all 13 finalists in the Newcastle Elementary Geographic Bee, the championship round came down to Carter Ackermann and Caleb Chin. After an exciting round of three questions, Carter earned the title of school champion for the second year in a row. Carter will now take an online test provided by the National Geographic Society in an attempt to qualify for the state competition. The students in WA with the top 100 qualifying test scores will represent their schools and compete at the state level on March 29th, 2019.
