Wahoo!
More than 200 students have registered for the Science Fair on May 11 from 6-8 pm! Students have submitted a wide diversity of project ideas, from astronomy to weather and everything in between. As your students work on their projects,
they can find helpful videos, resources, and project checklists at http://newcastleptsa.org/Page/sciencefair/ScienceFair.
The school library also has resources that can help students with project ideas. For students who registered but have not yet selected a topic, or for those who change project ideas, please submit a follow-up registration form (available at the above weblink) to the PTSA office by Friday, April 27.

Projects may not include living or preserved animals, harmful or hazardous substances, weapons, body fluids or flammable materials. If your junior scientist experiments with plants, please plan to display only photographs given allergy concerns.

Calling all adult scientists! Do you have a background in or passion for cooking, horticulture, natural sciences, physical sciences, computer science, or social science? We need volunteers to help "judge" at the Science Fair. As this is a non-competitive event, our judges will be focused on viewing the student projects, asking questions and offering feedback. Volunteers are also needed for set up, registration, and clean up and to assist with Age of Dinosaurs exhibit materials from the Burke Museum. Please contact danielle_dixon@comcast.net if you are available to be a judge or otherwise volunteer the night of the event.

Please make sure your calendar is marked to attend this event even if your child has not registered for the Science Fair. Pacific Science Center will be presenting its Radical Reactions interactive science show, and Kids Quest will have a hands-on
activity booth at the event. Come join the fun!
