ABOUT THE AUCTION

Dear Friend of Newcastle Elementary School,

Every two years, the Newcastle Elementary PTSA holds a fundraising auction to raise money to support our students – money that is necessary in today’s climate of state funding shortfalls. This biennial event kicks off with a holiday online auction in December 2016 and culminates with a fabulous evening at the Westin Bellevue on March 11, 2017, where we’ll have our silent and live auction, games, and more.

More than 350 parents, staff, and community friends attend this memorable event and it’s because of everyone’s participation that we’re able to help bridge the funding gap by providing art education, reading, and math support, as well as new technology to more than 620 students each year.

Last auction, we raised over $180,000 for our school, which is comprised of more than 400 families within the Issaquah School District, and we would like to be able to do this again in 2017. Reaching our goal depends on the generosity of the friends of Newcastle Elementary School: families, businesses, and community members. We invite you to partner with Newcastle Elementary by donating an item or service to this year's auction.

In return for your donation, we would like to offer you the following promotional consideration:

• An increased awareness of your business, service, or product
• An introduction of new community members to your business
• Support from the community that buys from your business
• Free publicity in our school newsletter, website, and auction night materials

Please ask your favorite businesses to donate an item for our 2017 auction. Donating is a win for them as it exposes their business to new customers.

Ideas include restaurant/retail gift cards and activities/entertainment for kids and families.

Families, please consider utilizing your season tickets for cultural or sporting events, club memberships, or vacation properties to offer a donation. You might also consider hosting an experience or event, such as an auction after party, poker party, dinner party for 8, etc. All donations are appreciated!
