What's Happening at Newcastle Elementary!

ISF HONK AND WAVE EVENT!

Hello!  It is time for the annual "Honk and Wave" Issaquah Schools Foundation event.  This event helps raise much needed funds for various  programs at our school. 

The event will take place on Tuesday, October 17th right in front of the main entrance.  The event will not take up time just 20 minutes before and 20 minutes after school in front of the main entrance. 

What do you need to do?  It's simple: bring your kids, friends, smiles and energy and wave at people!  It's really that simple.  This is great event for kids to participate in, they have so much fun waving and smiling at their classmates!

  2. Send a quick email to fatimah.khan@gmail.com and indicate if you have signed up for the morning shift, afternoon shift or both!

COSTUME CARNIVAL

Newcastle Elementary PTSA will host its annual Costume Carnival on Friday, October 27th, from 6pm - 8pm in The Commons.  The event will include games, prizes, including a Treat Walk, and food available for purchase.

CALLING ALL NEWCASTLE ARTISTS!! LION ART CONTEST!!

Illustrate your best Newcastle Lion and your creation could end up on the cover of this year's PTSA Directory or on the cover of the yearbook! Use crayons, markers, pencils, charcoal...whatever you want! All entries due in the PTSA office by Friday, November 3rd.

Please look out for the Contest Entry Form!!!


REFLECTIONS "WITHIN REACH"

2017-2018 National PTA Reflections “WITHIN REACH” student art competition is taking place now.  Entries are due Friday, November 3rd.  Categories for students K-5 include photography, literature and visual arts (2D).

GIFT-A-BOOK!

What is Gift-A-Book?  It is a great way to recognize your child or a loved one and to help keep our school’s library supplied with new and exciting hardcover books!  By donating to Gift-A-Book, your child or loved one will:

  • Be recognized in a special display in the library area.
  • Have a personalized bookplate in the selected book.
  • Be the first student to check the book out of the library.

How do you participate?  Until Thursday, November 9th, tax-deductible donations can be made in two ways:

  1. Select a book title during your child’s library time.
  2. Donate a dollar amount for the librarian to choose for you.

If you donated to the Gift-A-Book program when completing the PTSA online registration, we have your information and will contact your child to select a book.
