We hope you enjoy the 2017 – 2018 Student Directory! Student directories have been delivered to classroom teachers and will be coming home for PTSA members, very soon! If you have more than one student at Newcastle, your directory will come home with the oldest sibling at the school. Are you interested in a directory, but not yet a PTSA member? There is still plenty of time to join! We are so appreciative of our 570 members so far and are only 60 members shy of reaching 100% membership at Newcastle! Wow! Contact our Membership Chairs, Elizabeth Brecht & Stina Fluegge, at newcastleptsa.membership@gmail.com  The Newcastle 2018 National Geographic Bee Champion is… After outstanding effort by all thirteen finalists in the Newcastle Elementary National Geographic Bee, the exciting championship round came down to Carter Ackermann and Caleb Chin! In the end, it was Carter who earned the title of school champion. Carter will now take an online test provided by the National Geographic Society in an attempt to qualify for the state competition. The top 100 students in the state (selected based on qualifying test scores) will represent their schools and compete at the state level on April 2, 2018.
Compliments again to all of our school finalists who competed on stage this year: Carter A, Jordan A, Dylan B, Ava B, Hudson C, Caleb C, Carson D, Jacob F, Lukas F, Andrew K, Aditi M, Kaela M & Jacob S! Thank you to Ms. Wilhelm for being the teacher coordinator this year and Mr. Mellish for being the emcee.
