Newcastle Elementary Celebrates Read Across America!

Monday, March 4th
Hears a Who
The school-wide kick off for our Read Across America celebration begins with your teacher reading their favorite Dr. Seuss book to your class. It’s also a day where we focus on kindness. Can you be like Horton and commit a random act of kindness?

Tuesday, March 5th
I Can Read With My Eyes Shut! (Read My Shirt Day)
Wear a shirt with words on it.

Wednesday, March 6th
The Cat in the Hat (Storybook Character Day)
Students are encouraged to show off their creativity by dressing up as their favorite book character. (It doesn’t have to be a character from a Dr. Seuss book, but you can always wear red and white and/ or a hat like The Cat in the Hat!)

Thursday, March 7th
Hunches in Bunches (Drop Everything and Read Day)
All Newcastle Lions will stop what they’re doing sometime on Thursday to read a good book.  Have a book ready to read that day!

Friday, March 8th
Fox in Socks (Crazy Day)
Wear your craziest socks to school. Anything goes!

Please contact Mrs. Berry at BerryL@issaquah.wednet.edu with any questions.
