The Newcastle PTSA is proud to sponsor the LionArt Docent program. The objective of this program is to
provide the children with opportunities to explore their artistic talents and to expand their knowledge of art through fun and creative projects. This is volunteer-led art instruction that takes place once a month in the classroom. Children get to experiment with different media, including paint, glass, clay and pastels while learning about different art elements. They become familiar with the works of major European artists, including Pablo Picasso, Henri Rousseau and Edvard Munch, as well as North Americans such as Jim Dine, George Rodrigue and Dale Chihuly.
