Join Us Friday, Oct. 18 For The PTSA Costume Carnival and Spaghetti Dinner!

We hope to see you at the PTSA Costume Carnival on Friday, October 18 from 6:00-8:30pm in the school Commons. We'll have carnival games, a Treat Walk, and other fun. And once again, our one and only Newcastle Dads will be serving a delicious Spaghetti Dinner starting at 6pm. Pre-purchase dinner tickets here for just $5 and avoid the lines.

Goodies are needed for the ever-popular Treat Walk. Please deliver candies, cookies, cupcakes and other treats by 4pm Friday, October 18th to the table outside the Main Office. All treats should be store-bought and nut-free.

Interested in volunteering to help in any way? Please sign up here. We'll see you Friday, October 18!

PTSA Food Drive to Benefit the Issaquah Food Bank

The Newcastle PTSA is holding a Food Drive from October 16th-October 30th to benefit the Issaquah Food Bank, a local non-profit organization serving our community. Its mission is to provide basic needs for our community members to promote self-sufficiency. Donations will benefit newborns to age 90+, including homeless, struggling seniors, the mentally ill and victims of tough times or tough streets.

Please help make a difference in our community by donating the following non-perishable food items and essential supplies in the marked collection bins within Newcastle Elementary School during the Drive.

Issaquah Food Bank is in serious need of the following items:

  • Progresso Soups/Healthy Soup
  • Pasta Sauce/Spaghetti
  • Mac & Cheese/Pasta & Rice a Roni
  • Hamburger Helper
  • Ramen Noodles
  • Canned Tuna/Chicken/Other Meats
  • Canned Pasta Meals
  • Canned Fruit & Vegetables
  • Peanut Butter & Jelly
  • Cereal
  • Instant Oatmeal Packets
  • Broth/Stock
  • Boost/Ensure
  • Gluten Free Foods
  • Cooking Oil (small 24 oz)
  • Baby Wipes & Diapers 4-6
  • Toiletries
  • Laundry/Dish Soap

Deposit donations into one of the bins at school by the main office or foot of the stairs anytime from October 16th-October 30th. The bins will be labeled “Dress Alike Day” and “Dream Job Day”. We will also be collecting donations at the Costume Carnival this Friday, October 18th. A raffle ticket will be handed out for every item donated at the Carnival. Please drop off your donations by 7:30 to be entered into the raffle for prizes. At the end of the Food Drive, whichever bin has collected the most food will determine which kind of fun day the whole school will have. Questions, please contact Heather Ackermann at hm_ackermann@yahoo.com. Thank you for your help and support!
