Alice Kim

Alice is a dedicated and integral member of the Newcastle Elementary community, committing a significant amount of her spare time to various PTSA activities both in the past and present. Her contributions are extensive; when she's not actively involved in PTSA initiatives, she can be found volunteering at the library, coordinating art projects, managing Popcorn Fridays, or leading tables at cultural night events, among other responsibilities.

Her passion for community involvement goes beyond PTSA duties as she actively recruits volunteers, engaging others to participate across different tasks and events. Alice's leadership within the PTSA has been exemplary, having served as the Reflections Chair for multiple years and, most recently, as the VP of Volunteers. In this role, she orchestrated impeccable setups for staff appreciation luncheons, showcasing her dedication to fostering a supportive and appreciative environment within the school community.

Alice's tireless efforts and unwavering dedication make her an indispensable asset to Newcastle Elementary and the broader community. Her ability to mobilize support, organize events, and create meaningful experiences for staff and students alike significantly contributes to the positive atmosphere and sense of belonging at the school.

Bisa Meek

Bisa is an incredibly dedicated and involved member of the Newcastle Elementary School community. She has served on the school board for several years, where her impact has been profound. Notably, she reinvigorated the Fall Festival by relocating it to Fletcher Farms, organized art projects for students during the challenges of COVID-19, revived Popcorn Fridays and Movie Nights, and spearheaded events like Spring Fling and the Multicultural Fair.

Her commitment extends beyond the school board as she works as a paraprofessional at Newcastle Elementary, where she provides support to students with special needs and behavioral challenges. Known for her patience and dedication, she has become a beloved figure at the school.

In addition to her work at Newcastle Elementary, Bisa is actively involved in both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, serving the greater Newcastle community. She runs a multi-generational Girl Scout troop, ensuring that every member feels included and valued.

Outside of school-related activities, Bisa also volunteers at her daughter’s dance studio, demonstrating her commitment to various community endeavors.

Throughout her tenure with the PTSA, Bisa has held the position of VP of Programs, a role that demands significant time and effort. Despite the challenges, she has consistently gone above and beyond, organizing events, listening to teachers' requests, and fostering a positive atmosphere within the community.

Overall, Bisa's tireless efforts and unwavering commitment have made her an indispensable asset to both Newcastle Elementary School and the broader community. Her willingness to serve others and create positive experiences for students and families alike truly sets her apart.
