All Couples & Individual PTSA Memberships will receive a complimentary Student Directory.
The directory is prepared by the PTSA and includes basic family information (student name, parent names, address, phone number, and email address). If you would like any student or family information to appear differently from what was provided to the school, please email us with that information. Your family’s information will be included in the directory unless you have requested that it remain unpublished. If you are unsure, contact the school Registrar at 425-837-5821.

This program applies to any customer, not just families who attend the school, so tell your friends and neighbors to
consider Precision Autocraft when their vehicles get crunched. All they have to do is ask Precision to support the Newcastle Elementary PTSA and we automatically receive a check when the repairs are done!

Office Depot will credit Newcastle Elementary with the value of 5% of qualifying school supply purchases made throughout the year. Help Newcastle Elementary by buying your school supplies at Office Depot. Our ID # is 70204283 and will be available at local Office Depot stores. If you have children in elementary school chances are you shop at Target. Now, every time you use your Target Visa or Target Guest Card (r) at a Target store or on www.target.com, Target will donate an amount equal to 1% of purchases made to Newcastle Elementary. When you use your Target Visa anywhere else, Target will donate 1/2% of total purchases. Call 1-800-316-6142 to designate Newcastle Elementary as your school of choice.

The PTSA sets aside a portion of its budget to help Newcastle students who may need assistance. The Caring Through Sharing Program can provide students with basic school supplies, including backpacks and other necessities, as well as helping pay for students to attend field trips. This program is generously supported by the City of Newcastle. If you need assistance for your student, please see your child's teacher or any Newcastle staff member.

As an integral part of our school community, the Sunshine Committee provides a "ray of sunshine" to any Newcastle family that may need some brightening to their day. We are there to provide a gesture of kindness that will help to bring a smile during what may be a difficult time (prolonged illness, surgery, etc). Whether it be in the form of a small gift, card, flower, or food, we are there to show that we care.

Every time you shop at Everything Party at The Landing in Renton, they will donate money to our school! Just tell the cashier you are with Newcastle Elementary, and 10% of your transaction will be sent to our school. To participate in the program, simply notify the store cashier of our school name at the start of your transaction. Everything Party will automatically track the sales and send a quarterly check to our school!

It’s just like Groupon – except our PTSA gets 5% of every purchase you make! You can link to it from our PTSA website and also be sure to “like” it on Facebook or other social media outlets so you can stay up-to-date on their offers.

Earn money for Newcastle Elementary and dispose of used ink and laser cartridges in an environmentally friendly way by
sending them to school with your child or dropping them off yourself in the Cartridge World recycling box near the office.
You can also take them to the Cartridge World store in Issaquah and designate Newcastle Elementary for your donation. Don't forget to ask family, friends and co-workers to donate their used cartridges as well -- it adds up quickly!

Imagine Auction is our biggest fundraiser. We hold the auction every other year. Our next auction will be on March 16th, 2013. This committee helps with everything from procurement to class projects to day of the event set-up, check-in, or clean up.

Clip Box Tops from hundreds of participating General Mills products with the original Box Tops program. Box Tops are worth 10 cents each. Save your box tops and have your child drop them in the collection box at school. You can help Newcastle Elementary earn even more by visiting www.boxtops4education.com where you will also find a complete, updated listing of qualifying products. Join the Box Tops for Education booster club at that site, and you will find coupons and opportunities to earn even more box tops for our school. Shop on line at the Box Tops for Education Marketplace and up to 10% of each qualifying purchase will be donated to Newcastle Elementary.

Campbell's "Labels for Education" is an easy, fun way to help Newcastle Elementary get free educational merchandise, including computers, sports equipment and musical instruments. All you have to do is save labels from participating Campbell's brands that families use every day. Simply remove the label AND UPC code from participating products (look for the "Labels For Education" logo) and send them to school, so your child can deposit them in the collection bin at Newcastle Elementary. Entertainment books contain literally hundreds of coupons for local retailers, such as QFC, Sports Authority, Bartell Drugs, Cold Stone Creamery and more.
Student will have the opportunity to sell the Entertainment Books to friends and family for $30 each. 50% of book sales will go directly to the Newcastle PTSA. Our fundraising goal is to sell $30,000 in books and proceeds will be used to run programs such as Art Docent, Kinder Connect, Emergency Preparedness, the Fall Costume Carnival and much more.

Connecting kindergarten families together! Kids building friendships with kids, and parents building friendships with other parents. Join us for our monthly play dates. Volunteers assist with kindergarten socials throughout the school year.

This committee handles the PTA membership drive at the beginning of the year. We are striving for 100% membership!

Reconnect with old friends and meet new ones at the Newcastle Elementary School PTSA sponsored Back-to-School Picnic. This event will be held outside the gym from 3:30-5:00 on Monday, August 29th following Meet-your-Teacher. There will be several information booths where parents can learn about different PTSA programs including Art Docents and Reflections fine arts contest. You will also have the opportunity to sign up for PTSA membership, purchase Spirit Wear and create a bank account for your child. Students from the 5th grade will be selling pizza, beverages and cookies to help raise money for their Camp Warm Beach trip.

During the holiday season Newcastle Elementary will be continuing the tradition of The Polar Express giving program. Several families in the Issaquah School District are chosen for the Newcastle PTSA to assist every year. Special giving trees will be located throughout the school with train gift tags describing the needs and wishes of the children. The Polar Express program gives each of us an opportunity to help these families in need.

Volunteers assist in library with direction from librarian. Volunteer once a week, every other week, or once a month – it’s up to you.

Sponge is offering weekly Spanish language lessons for K - 2 (Tues 8:10 - 9:10 AM) and 3rd - 5th grades (Thurs. 8:10 - 9:10 AM). Classes will be held on the school stage. For more information, contact info@spongeschool.com, or click here to register

Book Fair takes place twice per year in the fall & spring. Volunteers assist with set-up, cashiering and straightening books & helping students during event.

Volunteers work on an as needed basis under the direction of Mrs. Wood to support the music room. Tasks may include copying, typing programs, making sets, program set up, etc.

The National PTA Reflections Program is an arts recognition and achievement program that provides opportunities for students to express themselves creatively and to receive positive recognition for original works of art inspired by a pre-selected theme. The program increases community awareness on the importance of the arts in education.
Entries will be due the beginning of November.
Help coordinate volunteers, distribute information and promote the program, display entries, identify judges, and help coordinate a reception for participants.

This is a visual arts program designed to allow children more opportunities to explore their art talents through educational art lessons and creative art projects conducted in the classroom.
If you enjoy working with students, then this is a wonderful volunteer opportunity for you. No art knowledge or experience is required. All volunteers are welcome, from those who have no formal art training to those individuals that have an extensive art background.

Volunteers to help cut and glue book tags before event and then adhere bookplates in donated books at the end of the event.

Students have the opportunity to deposit their money (no matter what the amount—after an INITIAL DEPOSIT of at least $5.00) into an interest bearing savings account! Monetary incentives will be added to each account depending on the number of times a child makes a deposit. Deposits will be made at school (on the stage during lunch period) to a HomeStreet Bank representative.
If your child doesn’t have an account at Homestreet bank, then stop by a branch to open one up.

In May 2012 we hosted the first ever PTSA-sponsored Newcastle Elementary School science fair. All K-5 students were encouraged to participate by working on a science project at home and displaying it proudly at the fair. We had a great turn out. Thank you for everyone who participated.
