Register for the Sept. 30 PTSA General Membership Meeting Join us on Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 6:30pm for our first General Membership Meeting of the year. We will be joined by Dr. Wood and Alex Norton who will be available to answer questions regarding remote learning, social-emotional health and support, and what is known about plans to return students to in-person learning. You do not have to be a PTSA member to join the meeting, but advanced registration is required. Please register here and you will be sent the link for the Zoom meeting.
REUNITING THE PRIDELANDS AUCTION NEWS Contact: AuctionNewcastle2021@gmail.com What is an Auction and Why Do We Have One Every Two Years? We understand that we have families from all over the countries and all over the world, many of whom may have little to no experience with US public schools, with PTSAs, or with school auctions. Get your questions answered here and reach out to our auction team with other questions. Calling All Artists! Logo Art Contest Submissions Due Oct. 6! Would your Newcastle Lion like to have his or her artwork featured as the logo for our Reuniting the Pridelands Auction? Then grab those paints, markers, pencils or crayons and get creating! Use the Newcastle spirit and show us what it means to you to Reunite the Newcastle Elementary Pridelands. Think of your friends, family, teachers, and anything else that represents your Newcastle “pride”. Scan or take a close-up picture of the artwork (hold onto that original!) and send it to auctionnewcastle2021@gmail.com. Please include your child’s name, grade, and teacher in the email. If you’re not able to submit in this way, please contact us at the same email to make other arrangements. Artwork is due by October 6! We’re Collecting Items for the Auction The success of our auction depends on having items on which families can bid. We need you! ParentWiser Presents: You Can Do It! Motivating Teens and Tweens for Distance Learning and Beyond In this strange time, you need tips and tools for helping your tween or teen with starting and completing things more than ever. Dr Sharon Saline, veteran psychologist, believes that when you include young people in creating solutions to daily challenges, you increase their buy-in and their motivation.
