Hello Newcastle Lions!

We are thrilled to have everyone back and excited for a great year ahead!

PTSA Membership

Friendly reminder that your PTSA membership does need to be renewed each school year. If you have not joined us yet this year (and purchased your yearbook), please do! The PTSA has been with Newcastle Elementary since its doors opened over 15 years ago, providing the funding and programs to enrich the educational experience to our children.

PTSA Membership helps fund critical school programs such as:

  • In classroom monthly art curriculum and art supplies.

  • Family events like Costume Carnival, Science Fair and Multicultural Night.

  • Educational enrichment events like the Spelling Bee and Math Adventures.

  • Teacher allotments for classroom books, supplies or special class events.

  • After school programs like robotics and math assistance.

  • Community outreach like the Holiday Toy Drive, Movie Nights, and Lunch for the Break.

  • Yearbooks, Book Fairs, and much more!

  • An expanded and updated playground in 2019!

Our ability to deliver an exceptional educational experience at Newcastle depends upon EVERYONE. It takes nearly $300 per student to fund PTSA programs for a year. Every dollar makes a difference!

Make your voice heard and become a member today. For the 2022/2023 school year, a family (2-adult) membership costs $25 or $15 for an individual membership. Visit www.newcastleptsa.org to sign up today, and order your yearbooks!

We will have a meet and greet with our new Dean of Students, Chad Porter and a principal chat with Dr. Wood. The final budget for the school year will be voted on, as well as other important information. The meeting will be held in the Newcastle Library on Wednesday, September 14th, from 7:00p-8:30p.

SAVE THE DATE: Newcastle Elementary Auction

March 10, 2023

Every two years, the Newcastle Elementary PTSA holds a fundraising auction to raise money to support our students – money that is necessary in today’s climate of state funding shortfalls made worse by the impact on budgeting and staffing issues because of COVID. This biennial event kicks off with a holiday online auction in December 2022 and culminates with a fabulous evening at the Hyatt Regency South Lake Washington on March 10, 2023, where we will have our silent and live auction, games and more. More than 400 parents, staff and community friends attend this memorable event and it is because of everyone’s participation that we’re able to help bridge the fundraising gap by providing art education, reading and math support, as well as new technology and safety measures to more than 500 students each year.

Due to the COVID pandemic, this will be our first live auction since the 2018-2019 school year, and we could not be more excited!

This year’s theme is There’s Magic in the Air Tonight. This theme defines the spirit of Disney’s Princess and the Frog film. Set in New Orleans during the 1920’s, the film tells a story of perseverance, optimism, hard work, devotion, magic and love.
