Come in to Frosty Barrel between 1:30pm and 10:00pm on Wednesday, October 11th, and a portion of all purchases go to our PTSA when you mention our school!
 Vision/Hearing Screening Volunteers Needed
Our school nurse, Jamie Heinz, is still in need of quite a few volunteers to assist with our hearing and vision screening. No experience necessary and you will be trained. This is for volunteers who are approved through the district only. If you have not submitted your application, please do so HERE. Sign ups to help with the screening process, which is happening October 17 and 18, is HERE.
 Staff Appreciation Lunch by 4th and 5th Grade Families
Three times a year, the families of Newcastle Elementary host a luncheon for teachers and staff to show them how much we appreciate everything they do for our children. We ask the help of the 4th and 5th grade families to provide a delicious 'Crocktober' luncheon with comfort foods such as stews, soups, salads and more! Either homemade or store-bought! You can drop off anytime before 10:30am on Tuesday, October 24th. Link to sign up is HERE.
**Cockpots/Instant Pots welcome! Please label your pots/casserole dishes on the bottom and you can pick them up anytime after the luncheon. We appreciate your participation and generosity!!
 Fundraiser at MOD Pizza
Dine at MOD Pizza on Thursday, October 26th, and a portion goes to our PTSA! Easy peasy! Simply bring in the flyer below (will be disbursed closer to the date via kidmail) or order online with the coupon code provided on the flyer.
 Fall Festival
Save the date! Our annual Fall Festival will take place at Fletcher Farms (18712 SE May Valley Rd, Issaquah, WA 98027) on Friday, October 27th, from 6pm-8pm. More details to follow.
 Playworks is Coming to Newcastle!
We are excited to announce Newcastle Elementary is teaming up with Playworks for the 2023-2024 school year! Playworks is the leading national non-profit using play to transform schools. We are proud to partner with Playworks to make recess a fun, inclusive time for every student in our community. A Playworks recess creates a place for every kid on the playground to feel included, be active, and build valuable social and emotional skills. For more information, CHECK OUT THIS VIDEO. This wonderful program is funded by our PTSA. If you have yet to join for this school year to support this and many other programs at Newcastle Elementary, PLEASE DO SO TODAY!
Spirit Wear Fridays!
Each Friday, we encourage everyone to show their school spirit! You can wear your Newcastle Spirit Wear, yellow/green, or your favorite sports team! Let's see that pride!

Issaquah Schools Foundation Events
Parent Connect Conference - Saturday, October 14th
Attendees will have the opportunity to not only hear from experts, but also talk with other parents about mental and emotional well-being topics relevant to our kids today. It's free for all ISF parents and caregivers. More information can be found HERE.
 Monster Mash 5K - Saturday, October 28th
The last day to register to guarantee a t-shirt is TODAY (Monday, October 10th). Registration will still be open after that (until full) but t-shirts can't be guaranteed. There are also lots of volunteer opportunities available. More information can be found HERE.
