Please email newcastleptsa.president@gmail.com for the zoom link. We will be voting in our Nominating Committee, which will have the task of finding our board for the 2024-2025 school year.

When: Monday, February 5th - Friday, February 9th

Time: 12:00 - 1:10pm

The next Junior Coach Training Session (for our student coaches) will be on Tuesday, February 6th, from 1:45pm - 2:30pm. Come learn more about Playworks, student leadership opportunities, and our awesome NC Junior Coaches!

What is Playworks? Playworks is the leading national non-profit using play to transform schools. We are proud to partner with Playworks to make recess a fun, inclusive time for every student in our community. A Playworks recess creates a place for every kid on the playground to feel included, be active, and build valuable social and emotional skills. It also gives our older students an opportunity to show leadership skills by including the younger students to play and feel included.

Baseball Fundraiser Night!

Grab your family, friends, or neighbors and spend a night watching the Seattle Mariners take on the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday, April 27, T-Mobile Park @ 6:40pm. Tickets are $25 and a portion of ticket sales goes directly back to the Newcastle Elementary PTSA. Purchase tickets by March 20th, while supplies last! Link to order is HERE.

Golden Acorn Award

Each year, our PTSA awards the Golden Acorn to individuals who have given outstanding volunteer service to the children and youth in our school and community. The Golden Acorn is special and given for continued and dedicated service. This is an excellent way to honor our volunteers that have gone “above and beyond!" Award winners receive the Golden Acorn Award Pin and a special certificate from the Washington State PTA. The PTSA also contributes in the winners’ name to the Washington State PTA Scholarship Foundation, which provides scholarships to selected high school students entering post-secondary education. Lastly, we will celebrate the Golden Acorn winners with the PTSA Board and previous recipients in April. For more information, please click HERE.

Please complete the form HERE, using as much detail as possible, to nominate someone who is making a difference in our children’s lives. The Golden Acorn Committee will make the final selections. If you have questions, please feel free to contact the committee chair, Mary Vickers, at mary.joanna@gmail.com. The committee consists of last year's recipients, Mary Vickers and Ellie Diaz. THE NOMINATION DEADLINE IS FRIDAY, MARCH 15TH, 2024. Nominations are confidential, but we ask that you provide your contact information in case we have a question.

Join the PTSA Executive Board for the 2024-2025 School Year

Would you like to help set the direction for the PTSA? Want to be more “in the know” about what happens at school? Interested in meeting new people? All while working in service of our students? Then please consider joining our PTSA Executive Board. We’re made up of parents from all different backgrounds and experiences, just like our community. We have moms, a dad, parents who work full-time and part-time, and parents who don’t work outside the home. There’s a place for everyone. You can learn more about the various roles on the Board and the time commitment (typically less than 3-5 hours per month) HERE. If you’re interested in learning more or have someone you think would be great on the board, please contact Dana Kinghorn (part of our Nominating Committee) at dkinghorn80@gmail.com.
