Dear Newcastle Lions,

As I prepare to step down from the PTSA, I am filled with immense gratitude. Over the years, I have had the privilege of witnessing the incredible dedication of our families up close. I have seen parents and caregivers, despite their busy schedules, find the time to be on our campus or assist behind the scenes from home. When I came into this position, we were still trying to find our new normal after COVID. Many of the traditions our school had, I was not a part of, so it was a lot of making it up as we went along. 

From helping with lunch and recess to organizing Popcorn Fridays, LionArt, movie nights, the Fall Festival, and school supply setups; from sending room rep emails, staff appreciation efforts, and coordinating Orange Ruler, book fairs, and picture days; to managing the lost and found, principal chats, the Angel Program, food drives, Kinder Connect, and vision and hearing screenings—you have all contributed in countless ways.

Often, the president receives much of the praise when things go well, but I want to reiterate that it is YOU who make this school as fabulous as it is. Your dedication and hard work are what truly make a difference.

Thank you for a wonderful experience. I am proud of the work of this community and humbled by your generosity. I know this PTSA will continue to thrive with our fabulous new board under the direction of Mindy Niehaus and Shellie Colby.
