Newcastle Elementary Science Expo 2019

Wahoo! Newcastle Elementary Science Expo is fast approaching - Friday, March 1st from 6:30pm - 8:30pm!  Many students have submitted a wide diversity of project ideas, from Biology to Robotics and many topics in between.

If you want to enjoy the limelight, and are excited to Explore Science and Technology, then engage immediately.  Please register online or by returning the registration form before time runs out on Friday, January 18th, 2019 at 3:40pm.

CALLING ALL PARENTS!

Whether you have a background in or passion for Science and Technology or not,  we desperately need your help.  There are multiple needs on-site on the day of the event or at your own pace from the comfort of your home ranging from helping students with project selection / execution to project evaluation and feedback (and everything in between).  Volunteers also needed to assist with hands-on-experiences from tech and aerospace organizations.

Contact Jon or Ram if you are available to be a guide, evaluate or otherwise volunteer the night of the event.

Sign up {online} now!

Check out the Expo Website, it is constantly being updated with useful information like Draft Project Document, FAQ, Useful Websites with list of projects and sample projects, Project Guidelines, Sample Investigation and Sample Display Board.

As the students work on their projects, they can find helpful videos, resources, and project checklists at www.mackinvia.com or in the KCLS library. The school library also has resources that can help students with project ideas. You can also contact Jon or Ram or check the Science Expo website.

Projects may not include living or preserved animals, harmful or hazardous substances, weapons, body fluids or flammable materials. If your junior scientist experiments with plants, please plan to display only photographs given allergy concerns.

Mark your calendar to attend this event even if your child has not registered for the Science Expo. Organizations and Associations from the Technology, Aerospace and Robotics areas will have a hands-on activity booths at the event. Come join the fun!
