Last Week for the Random Acts of Kindness Challenge Keep those submissions coming! We’ve been so excited to see the ways in which Newcastle Lions have spread kindness this month. If your student hasn’t participated yet, this week is the last chance. Every student who participates will be entered to win fun prizes! To submit, send a photo of your student’s kindness act (with name and grade) to Jessiej0608@gmail.com to be included in the yearbook. If you’re unable to submit a photo, you can send an email to newcastleptsa.outreach@gmail.com detailing the Act of Kindness or complete THIS TEMPLATE and drop it off in the folder at the front entrance of school. Find great ideas for spreading love HERE. Submissions are due Feb. 28 by 11:59pm. The drawing will take place the week of March 1 and winners will be contacted by email. Discover Your Student’s Inner Van Gogh with a Virtual Painting Class Thursday, March 18, from 6-7pm We’re inviting up to 50 Newcastle students to join a Virtual Paint Party with Kristina Marrone of KM Creations. She’ll lead the students in the creation of their own masterpieces. All supplies will be provided by the PTSA, but you must REGISTER in advance. Be sure to register each student in your household separately so that each has his/her own supplies. If you have questions, please contact Bisa Meek at bisameek@gmail.com.
REUNITING THE PRIDE LANDS AUCTION NEWS Introducing the ART FOR ALL Family Sponsorship Opportunity For this year’s Auction, every Newcastle Lion and Staff member will have the chance to participate (for FREE) in the creation of several different Tile Art Projects. In addition, 20 lucky families (or staff members) from each grade will have the chance to SPONSOR the project and create a unique family featured art piece. For just $85 your family can play a part in commemorating this unique year in art! Sponsorships will be available for purchase starting Feb. 22 HERE. Opportunities are limited so HURRY! We’re Still Collecting Items for Auction! It’s time to clean out those drawers, closets, and cabinets of gift cards and other new items you’re not using. WE NEED THEM! We’d also love to create Staycation and Vacation opportunities so let us know if you have a vacation property, extra airline miles, or hotel stays you could donate. SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY NEWS Save the Date for Issaquah Schools Foundation Nourish Every Mind Thursday, April 29, at 7pm Our annual Nourish Every Mind event will be virtual again this year…and moved to the evening. The online event will be on April 29 at 7pm, along with an online auction April 16-26.
