PTSA General Meeting and Chat with Dr. Wood Monday, March 22 at 6pm via Zoom If you would like to attend, please send an email to newcastleptsa.president@gmail.com and the Zoom link will be provided. LAST CHANCE To Submit Random Acts of Kindness EVERY student who commits an act of kindness will be entered to win fun prizes! To submit, send an email to newcastleptsa.outreach@gmail.com detailing the Act of Kindness. Submit by March 12. You can also submit a photo of your student “in the act” for the yearbook by sending a picture (at least 750KB) to jessiej0608@gmail.com. Nominations Open for the PTSA Golden Acorn Award Each year we award the Golden Acorn to individuals who’ve given outstanding volunteer service to our students and community. This is an excellent way to honor our volunteers who have gone “above and beyond”! If you have someone you believe deserves recognition for their service, please complete the nomination form HERE. Nominations are due by Friday, April 2. PTSA Board SPOTLIGHT – What does a Secretary do? We’re looking for people interested in joining our PTSA Board for 2021/2022. You can learn more about the various positions that make up the Board HERE. This week we’re spotlighting the Secretary role. Are you a great listener who loves organization and working with others? Then you’d make a great PTSA Secretary! The Secretary is the detail-oriented eyes and ears of the PTSA. He or she sets meeting agendas, records meeting minutes, maintains our PTSA records and key documents, and helps to ensure that the Board completes all the necessary tasks to keep in compliance with the National PTSA. ALL ABOUT ART! With so much art happening right now, it can be confusing. We’re breaking it down. Virtual Paint Class with KM Creations – March 18 This is a PTSA funded event with 100 students attending and all supplies provided by the PTSA. More information will be coming regarding supply pick up. Reuniting the Pride Lands ART FOR ALL Tile Project – Tiles Due by April 1 Our fundraising team has put together an incredible project to “reunite” our students and staff in the creation of one-of-a-kind art projects that will be auctioned at our Virtual Gala on May 15. Each student will receive a tile and paint supplies, along with INSTRUCTIONS, by the end of this week. If you don’t receive it or have questions, please contact auctionnewcastle2021@gmail.com. Reuniting the Pride Lands Art Sponsorship Opportunities Available Families have a unique opportunity to complete and showcase a special “FAMILY TILE” as part of the Art For All Project. Purchase a Family Art Tile and receive a YouTube link with ideas for creating a special family project. Each family will also receive an 8x10 print of the completed Grade-Level art piece featuring their special creation. Click HERE for more details and to purchase.
AUCTION NEWS Let MOD Pizza Take Care of Dinner Every Wednesday in March Last week was great! Let’s keep it going all month. Every Wednesday in March, MOD Pizza at Newcastle Commons will share the proceeds from your order (lunch, dinner or in between) with Newcastle Elementary School.
