Families have a unique opportunity to complete and showcase a special “FAMILY TILE” as part of the Art For All Project. Purchase a Family Art Tile and receive a YouTube link with ideas for creating a special family project. Each family will also receive an 8x10 print of the completed Grade-Level art piece featuring their special creation. Click HERE for more details and to purchase. Wednesdays are Made for MOD PIZZA! Once again, MOD has your Wednesday lunch and/or dinner covered. Order from MOD Pizza at Newcastle Commons this Wednesday and 20% of your purchase will come back to Newcastle Elementary School. Dine-in or take out and tell them you came to support the school (online code: GR179095N)! Kick off “Match Madness” with Hoops n’ Scoops at Frosty Barrel! Thursday, March 18 Ice cream, basketball, and helping our students – it’s a match made in heaven! Follow up your Wednesday MOD Pizza with a visit to Frosty Barrel on Thursday to kick off NCAA March Madness and help support our PTSA and school. A portion of all yummy purchases comes back to support the PTSA. Speaking of great matches…did you know that many companies will match your contributions to the PTSA, providing even more funding to help our students? It’s a great way to double your donation! Check out our COMPANY LISTING and see if yours participates. Things like PTSA membership dues, fundraising purchases, and donations can all qualify! Two Weeks Left for Golden Acorn Award Nominations Help us to recognize and honor our volunteers who have gone “above and beyond” by nominating them for the Golden Acorn Award! If you have someone you believe deserves recognition for their service, please complete the nomination form HERE. Nominations are due by Friday, April 2. PTSA Board SPOTLIGHT – What does “Ways and Means” Even Mean? We need people for our 2021/2022 PTSA Board. Learn more about the various positions that make up the Board HERE. This week we’re spotlighting the VP Ways and Means role. Are you a creative thinker and team player who would love to help identify fun ways to help the PTSA raise crucial funding? Then the Ways and Means position might be a perfect fit. Ways and Means simply means “finding the ways and the means to bring money to the PTSA”. The VPs of Ways and Means oversee our annual fundraising programs, including the Spring fundraiser, the biannual Auction, and smaller programs like Spirit Wear and popcorn at recess. You’ll help the leaders for these events engage our community in making sure the PTSA can keep delivering great programs for our students. Thank you to all of our Lions who rose to our Random Acts of Kindness Challenge! We had students shoveling snow, picking up trash, sending sweet notes to family, doing chores that weren’t theirs and so much more. Congratulations to 10 students who each won $10 gift cards to DIY Tea Labs as part of our random drawing!
SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY NEWS Save the Date for Issaquah Schools Foundation Nourish Every Mind Thursday, April 29, at 7pm Our annual Nourish Every Mind event will be virtual again this year…and moved to the evening.
